Ireland, being an island on the western edge of Europe and on the Continental Shelf, is perfectly situated for Scuba-diving. The waters around Ireland are of varying quality and standards to encompass all individual requirements. Due to Ireland's small size it is relatively easy to travel from one part of the country to another, giving divers the opportunity to travel for one, or more, day's diving.

The dive season generally starts around March and ends around October. It is possible, of course, to dive outside of this, but due to adverse weather and sea conditions it is not appealing to everyone.

From earlier divers (1950's onwards) we have gained the knowledge about all the sites that they dived at, where to go, what to see and what to do. Most of this information has been passed on by word of mouth. This website intends to collect all this information and create a complete diving directory of Ireland.

This Web Site is for the experienced divers who may have visited many of the dive sites; it is for the inexperienced divers who haven't yet gained the  knowledge that comes with experience; it is for the visiting diver who wishes to get a taste of what Ireland has to offer.

Special thanks should be extended to the Irish Underwater Council
for their assistance in compiling this site.
